About Modern Percussion

Modern Percussion Design and Solutions was founded by Andrew Brown in 2007 during his freshman year of college and the start of his teaching career. He developed great working relationships with band directors and percussion instructors around the country and is offering the same great solutions to the public.

 

Andrew Brown has been invovled with the marching arts activity since 2001. He is a 4 time DCI finalist as well as a WGI finalist. He has taught and designed at numerous percussion programs including Findlay High School, Liberty Benton High School, Wilmington High School, Groveport Madison High School, Westerville North High School, Leilehua High School (Hawaii.) Andrew served as percussion director and assistant band director at Clinton-Massie High School for five years. He is the current joint percussion director at Westland High School, percussion director at Westerville South High School, clinician at Westerville North High School (Scholastic A Class Percussion Ensemble,) assistant director at Capital City Percussion (Independent World Class Percussion Ensemble,) and battery caption for ConneXus Independent (Independent Open Class Percussion Ensemble.)

 

Outside of the marching community, Andrew plays drumset and hand percussion in his jazz/fusion quartet and blues trio. He holds a BM in Music Performance (percussion) from UC-College Conservatory of Music. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends while visiting his hometown of Wilmington, OH.
